Twin Valley Recognized as Best Place to Work

  • News & Events

Many companies are nominated, but only the best are selected as finalists.

Providing the best WiFi ever starts with having the best team ever. Twin Valley and SKT were recognized as one of the area’s Best Places to Work by the Wichita Business Journal at a banquet on December 8, and that award is a testament to our people. Since Twin Valley acquired SKT in 2021, the companies have streamlined operations and restructured to operate as one company. Through this transition, employees have embraced change, worked to build strong relationships, and lived our core values every day.

For each nominated business, employees filled out a questionnaire. The top-rated businesses were announced as finalists and categorized by business size. Twin Valley and SKT finished seventh among medium-sized businesses. Congratulations to all the honorees recognized as 2022 Best Places to Work!

Read below why we believe our company, and most importantly our staff and values, make us a Best Place to Work.

What makes your company the best place to work? Our people. Our core values aren’t simply words on paper. We use them to define how we do business, who we do business with and those who represent us in business. We hire, fire, reward and recognize around our core values. Our people enjoy their work and find the humor and fun, extending it to customer interactions. Our people are resilient and focused on the team. We’re constantly improving and always leading by example. We’re a people-focused organization with leaders who trust our employees. As the largest family-owned broadband and communications company in the state, we serve primarily rural and suburban areas. We are driven by the fundamental idea that a small-town lifestyle does not require the sacrifice of high-tech amenities, and our goal is to be the lifelong broadband provider for our customers. We pledge to provide reliable internet service at the best value, local hometown customer service and meaningful community outreach initiatives. We’ll never be perfect, but we strive to put our core values into practice every day which helps us live up to that pledge.

Does having a great place to work lead to company success? Absolutely, having a great place to work means our employees take pride in our business and treat it as if it’s their own. It’s hard to find a more dedicated group that enjoys one another the way we do. Our mutual respect and appreciation allow for a safe environment to challenge each other. Not only can you see this by being around us, but it’s also reflected in our growth. We’re focused on achieving our goals together — primarily to bring the best WiFi and a next-level customer experience to underserved families, businesses and community anchor institutions. Providing affordable connectivity unlocks possibilities for communities for generations. When it comes to a meaningful career, knowing you can contribute to that kind of impact is powerful, and we couldn’t do it without our people and strong culture.

How does your company help grow the careers of employees? We live, work and play in the communities we serve, and many of our employees grew up in rural Kansas. So we have a special bond with our customers and take pride in providing cutting-edge connectivity to our families, friends and neighbors. With our significant growth plans, our focus is on developing our people to fill the roles of the future. When the right people are placed in the right seats, they quickly play to their strengths and thrive. This combination creates career opportunities that wouldn’t otherwise exist.

What’s the most popular out-of-office activity your company hosts for employees? We have offices statewide and many employees have flexible remote work schedules, so most collaboration is virtual. We hold an all-company conference to kick off the year with team building and presentations from leadership and industry experts. We end by celebrating employees with an awards ceremony. Everyone leaves energized and excited about our vision.
